Despite this, 114 vessels, specifically 36 oil tankers, 56 bulk carriers, 12 container ships, and one gas tanker have dispensed with the US warning and continue to pass in and out of the Red Sea through Bab al-Mandab. During the same period one week prior, Red Sea traffic count was at 131 vessels. 


Gas tankers have seen the most significant drop in ships that pass through the Bab al-Mandab; the number of gas tankers is down by 96 percent from a month ago.
