A Reuters exclusive graphic depicts how children are starving mainly in Gaza as three families from the Strip revealed to the agency their day-to-day diets.

It reported that according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), Gaza has the most households globally in the most extreme stage of food poverty.

It is noteworthy that levels of hunger are classified by the IPC into five categories, the worst of which is famine.

In March, an IPC report said that the entire population of Palestinians in Gaza will fall into Phases 3 to 5 between March and July.

Phase 3 is "crisis" as households have high or more than usual acute malnutrition or can meet their minimum food needs but only by selling assets or through crisis measures.

Phase 5 means “Catastrophe” or “Famine" as households have an extreme lack of food and/or other basic needs and starvation, death, destitution, and extremely critical acute malnutrition levels.
