The Western propaganda is framing Netanyahu's decision to dissolve the war cabinet as an attempt to sideline Ben Hmir and Smalltrich following the withdrawal of Gantz and Eizenkot. This interpretation, however, misses the mark entirely.
The war cabinet was initially formed to include opposition members, aiming to mitigate the influence of extremist factions on critical war decisions, at least in appearance. With the dissolution, Netanyahu finds himself back at square one, now free from consulting with others on war strategies while remaining fully at the mercy of Ben Hmir and Smoltrich's demands.
Amidst a nation more divided than ever, facing conflicts on multiple fronts, the collapse of a war cabinet intended to project a facade of unity and address internal divisions is truly remarkable.
In a normal "country," wars are certain to unite all factions against the external enemies. Apparently, that is not true for an artificial apartheid state whose citizens have nothing in common other than a synthetic language.

Report (June 18, 2024):
Gantz, during his meeting with Biden's envoy to Lebanon:
- Time to reach an agreement on the northern border is running out
โข We will support any effective action on the northern front from outside the current government
โข We are committed to removing Hezbollah threat from the Israeli population on the northern border.
Comment:
There is an important piece of information that has been left out from such reports.
The envoy in question is Amos Hochstein, who served in the Israeli Defense Forces as a tank crewman prior to moving to Washington. He was a foreign policy adviser to Democratic Party members of the U.S. government House Foreign Affairs Committee from 1994 to January 2001. A lifelong lobbyist for energy companies and a recent appointee of Blinken.
Now, he's serving as a mediator for "peace". But what kind of mediation can be expected from an ex-IDF?

Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" - Ron Ben Yishai:
In the northern arena, the Israeli army is almost unable to achieve any important strategic goal in the meantime, and certainly not a goal that would push Hezbollah to demand a ceasefire, and contrary to the expectations of the Israeli army. The sight of destruction in the Gaza Strip did not deter Hezbollah.

Testimony from an IOF Soldier about rules of engagement, soldier behavior, and white phosphorus in Gaza in 2009
-What bothered you most about this operation?
Bothered me? Many things. Firstly, all that destruction. All that fire at innocents.
This shock of realizing with whom I'm in this together. My mates, really, and that's how they're behaving. It was simply amazing. Inconceivable. The price of all the draft dodging. You have all the radical lefties who don't enlist for some reason or another, or stay close to home, and this is what your combat units look like.
-What disappointed you in the guys who were there with you? They're still your pals.
They're my pals, because there's no other way, I have to be friends with them.
I don't have much choice. I live with them. But the hatred, and the joy of killing, no... "I killed a terrorist, whoa... We blew his head off..."
-So the atmosphere there was laid back, no pressure, no reservations?
There was nothing to hold the men back?
When your company commander and
battalion commander tell you, "Go on, fire!" the soldiers will not hold back. They are waiting for this day, the fun of shooting and feeling all that power in your hands.
-You were feeling it?
The way you feel with your finger on the trigger, where in one slight pull you can take down half a building. So yes, you feel it.
-So you come back very disappointed?
Very. But I didn't have any other
expectations. I don't kid myself. It's your army, after all. At the end of the day it's 60 nineteen-twenty year olds for whom vulgarity and violence is a way of life. It's not... There's nothing to hold you back. I wasn't too surprised.
