As she lies on a hospital bed, her face covered in wounds, Reem's voice is barely audible as she recounts the terrifying events of June 8th, during the Nuseirat camp massacre. On that tragic day, U.S. and Israeli Special Forces bombarded and raided the area, resulting in the tragic loss of over 274 civilians and leaving at least 698 others injured, all in an attempt to rescue four Israeli soldiers.

At around 9:30 or 10 AM, Reem describes how explosions erupted all around, plunging the camp into chaos and confusion. As she and her family tried to escape to her grandfather's house, they were confronted with foggy streets and the constant threat of snipers.

Reem narrowly avoided being shot when a bullet struck a piece of metal nearby.

As the situation worsened, quadcopters and Special Forces descended upon them, forcing her family to return home and huddle together in one room, seeking safety and comfort in each other's presence.
