🚨 The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reviews the reported violations against Palestinian prisoners and detainees from Gaza, including killing, torture, and injections with unknown substances:

We affirm that the Israeli occupation army continues to systematically commit crimes of violent torture and inhuman and degrading treatment against thousands of Palestinian civilians who were arrested from the Gaza Strip.

We followed the occupation army’s release of dozens of detainees on June 11 from the “Zikim” area in the northern Gaza Strip. During the moment of their release, the army opened fire on them and forced them to walk and jog hundreds of meters until they could reach the populated areas.

These released detainees arrived in a deplorable state as a result of fatigue, which worsened the health condition they were already suffering from as a result of their exposure to torture and violence throughout the period of detention.

Testimonies of a number of those released confirmed that they were subjected to severe beatings, torture with electric shocks, insults, attempted injections with unknown substances, and deprivation of treatment and food.

The testimonies of those released confirm that the Israeli forces are continuing with the approach of severe torture and retaliation against the detainees despite their awareness that they are civilians.

The continuation of this torture is a natural result of “Israel’s” monopolization of the Palestinian people in light of the silence of the international community, including the relevant bodies in the United Nations.

We call on international justice institutions and the international community to break the cycle of silence regarding the unfolding brutal torture based on discrimination, collective revenge and dehumanization to which the Palestinians are subjected.

Israeli torture has reached the point of murder, rape, other forms of sexual violence, and forced injections with unknown substances, leaving scars and distinct marks on their bodies.

All crimes of “Israel” against Palestinian prisoners and detainees must be ended, including the crimes of torture, inhuman treatment, and enforced disappearance that it practices against thousands of them.

We call on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to continue investigating all crimes committed by “Israel” against Palestinian prisoners and detainees, including all those responsible for them, and to issue arrest warrants against all of them.

Dr. Ali recounts a vision he had as his house was bombarded, where he saw a different sky filled with lights between sunrise and sunset.

In this vision, he walked a path with his wife and son, encountering two figures in white who told him that it wasn't his time yet and that he needed to return to be tested further. In the vision his wife and son continue on without him.

Upon waking up, he found himself trapped under rubble, unable to breathe, until neighbors rescued him. His rescuers later confirmed the deaths of his parents, brother, wife, and son.

Overwhelmed with grief, Dr. Ali reflects on the deep bond he had with his wife:

"We married for love, and we had strong feelings and emotions for one another. While it's true that I, as a body, survived. My heart didn't. My heart died with them"
