Imam Khamenei while receiving President Assad: Resistance is Syria's distinctive identity and this important characteristic must be preserved

Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, during his meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his accompanying delegation, considered that resistance is the distinctive identity of Syria and said: “Syria’s special position in the region is also due to this distinctive identity and this important characteristic that must be preserved.”

Imam Khamenei thanked Mr. Bashar al-Assad for being in Tehran to offer his condolences to the Iranian people, and pointed to the prominent role of Mr. Raisi in strengthening Iranian-Syrian relations and added: “Mr. Amir Abdullahian also paid special attention in this regard.

Imam Khamenei evaluated the strengthening of relations between Iran and Syria as important in that the two countries are one of the basic pillars of the resistance and said: “Syria’s distinctive identity, which is the resistance, was formed since the late Hafez al-Assad and the establishment of the “Resistance and Resistance Front,” and this identity has always helped Syrian national unity.”
