TRT | Aqaba summit seeks more pressure on Israel to end Gaza assault.

Jordan's King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fatah el Sisi stressed at the end of an Arab summit in Aqaba that pressure should be increased to end Israel's aggression against Gaza and protect civilians there.

In a palace statement, both leaders - who attended a three-way meeting with Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas - said they rejected any Israeli plans to separate the fate of besieged Gaza from the occupied West Bank, adding the two entities were the basis of a future Palestinian state.

The three leaders rejected what they said were any efforts or proposals aimed at "liquidating the Palestinian cause".

Sisi also said that providing more aid to Palestinians in Gaza requires a "decisive stance" from the international community to push for a ceasefire, according to an Egyptian presidency statement.

Amnesty International | UK Boycott Bill to be Voted on in UK Parliament

The Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) Bill - dubbed the “anti-boycott bill” by those who see it as an attempt to prevent decision-making linked to ethical concerns about Israel’s human rights record - uniquely shields (clause 3 in the bill) Israel from ever being put on a list of countries to which this law might in the future not apply.

As such, the bill effectively grants Israel impunity at a time of flagrant breaches of international law in Gaza and the West Bank.

The vote takes place tomorrow.

Each U.S. destroyer carries an estimated 90 missiles. Their primary mission is to protect the U.S. aircraft carrier they are shielding. What happens when Yemen fires 100 drones/rockets/missiles at a U.S. carrier? The U.S. destroyer, or multiple destroyers will fire their missiles to defeat the threat. Only one little problem, the U.S. Navy got rid of the ship tenders, i.e. those vessels capable of resupplying destroyers with new missiles to replace the expended rounds. In order to reload, that destroyer must sail to the nearest friendly port where the U.S. has stockpiled missiles for resupply.

The staying power of a U.S. fleet in a combat zone, like Yemen, is a function of how many missiles the Yemenis fire at the U.S. ships.

Each of the Aegis missiles cost at least $500,000 dollars. The actual cost is $2 million dollars. If Yemen opts to use drone swarms to saturate the battle space around a carrier, then the United States will firing very expensive missiles to destroy relatively inexpensive drones.
