Jabalia is the largest Palestinian refugee camp spanning 1.4 km' and housing 32 UNRWA facilities. It's located in northern Gaza, close to the Israeli Beit Hanoun-Erez crossing.
Approximately 116,000 Palestinian refugees settled in the camp after the 1948 Nakba, most from the south of Palestine, like Ashdod, Jaffa, and Beersheba.
The camp's proximity to "Israel" and status as a resistance stronghold render it a frequent target, evidenced by multiple bombardments, notably during 2004's "Days of Regret" operation and subsequent attacks, including a deadly strike on a school in 2014 and a market bombing on October 9, 2023, resulting in significant casualties, predominantly children.
These are among the reasons why Jabalia camp is constantly being invaded and targeted by the occupation
