Very intense armed clashes erupted between the Palestinian resistance and IOF in eastern Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip for the first time in 4 months, as the IOF continues its heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip in among the most violent nights of bombing in months.

The eruption of clashes comes after the IOF began a new operation in Jabalia tonight, after failing to eliminate the resistance there and withdrawing humiliated in December 2023 and again for a few days in January 2024 due to the strikes of the resistance and the steadfastness of the people.

Netanyahu's intentions have been misunderstood and must be clarified. The main Italian newspapers continually repeat that Netanyahu intends to enter Rafah to defeat Hamas. But it's false. To understand Netanyahu's true purpose, we must resort to phenomenological sociology which places the reality of everyday life – the “supreme reality” made up of pressing practical needs – at the center of reflection on international security.

The reality of everyday life is the reality that touches our skin: it is the neighbor; the collapsed house; the soldiers on the streets. When Netanyahu finishes razing the Gaza Strip to the ground, the Palestinians will be very poor, thirsty and hungry. None of them will think about obtaining a state. The Palestinians will think about procuring what Marx placed at the basis of human life and, therefore, of history and society: food, water, housing and clothes. The more homes Israel destroys, the less Palestinians will have political concerns.

What does it mean? It means that the Palestinians will first ask for food, water, shelter and clothing. They will be plagued by practical and not political problems. Not surprisingly, Netanyahu makes them hungry and thirsty. Netanyahu prevents Palestinians from having water and food. The problem of building a state today is the last problem of the Palestinians.

Every time Italian politicians say: “Two peoples, two states”, Netanyahu demolishes one hundred houses in Gaza. Every time the European Union says that Palestinians have the right to have a state, Netanyahu destroys hospitals, schools and mosques. Netanyahu's message can be summarized as follows: “Do the Palestinians want a state? Well, in the meantime, make sure you get food, water, clothes and shelter."

Netanyahu can operate in this way thanks to the support of the European Union which has always refused to take punitive measures against Israel. Indeed, the European Union continues to give weapons to Israel. If history were told based on written documents rather than rhetoric, everyone would see that Western democracies violate human rights more than dictatorships.

The historical documentation leaves no doubt about this. The crimes that Western democracies have perpetrated against humanity over the last thirty years are infinitely greater than those perpetrated by dictatorships. No dictatorship in the world equals Western democracies in the violation of international law and human rights, as demonstrated by the war in Iraq or the ethnic cleansing in Gaza, to limit myself to just two cases.

In conclusion, Netanyahu wants to enter Rafah not to destroy Hamas, but to annihilate the Palestinian people who must be deprived of the strength to ask for a state. How? Forcing him to focus on the reality of everyday life, the supreme reality that imposes itself on every man by virtue of its urgency and immediacy.
