“He was very nice,” one of his closest companions recalled. “He was a guest,” referring to his lifestyle as he moved from one house to another.

Al-Dhaif’s friend in prison remembers, “Mohammed Al-Dhaif used to draw small cartoons for them to make us laugh in prison.”

Another says: Muhammad Al-Deif has created a good habit, which is to help neighboring young men who are building their homes with construction work.He also said and is known to be “very patient,” to a surprising degree


Muhammad Al-Deif did not feel embarrassed as he carried his broom, with the young men of the Islamic Complex, cleaning the streets of Khan Yunis, especially the main Al-Bahr Street.

In addition to his participation during his university activities in (Harvest Day), where they help farmers harvest their various crops.

During his activity in the Student Council of the Islamic University in Gaza, Muhammad Al-Deif was a flame of activity and, as described, did not hesitate to help.

Regarding this activity, one time houses in the city of Khan Yunis were exposed to a severe sandstorm, so he and the university students jumped in to save those houses and their residents and contributed to their restoration.

In addition to his contribution to the distribution of relief materials distributed by Islamic societies in Khan Yunis.


During his university activities, he was also keen on organizing periodic visits to patients in hospitals, bringing gifts with him and he also did not forget to visit cemeteries.

He was famous for his wit, his love of humor, and his charismatic personality, and those who remember Muhammad Al-Deif still remember his countless funny situations and jokes.

The characteristic of caution and caution was always inherent to Muhammad. For two years, he was able to remain unknown as a military activist until unfortunate disputes broke out in 1992 between the Hamas and Fatah movements due to the peace agreements.

An eyewitness described what happened that day: During the confrontations, a Fatah member fired an automatic machine gun;


This made one of the Qassam members furious, so he also opened fire from a pistol he was carrying.

Muhammad Al-Deif became very angry at this, and he rebuked the young man and dragged him from the place

Screaming: Our bullets are only directed at the enemy, and from that time everyone knew that Muhammad al-Deif was one of the Qassam commanders, and he disappeared from sight.


He was known for his extreme concern for his brothers, and he constantly worked to provide them with capabilities to the point that during the first intifada, he gave one of his brothers his personal gun and he had nothing left with which to defend himself.

That is why one of his brothers said about him: Muhammad did not live for himself, but rather all his concern was his brothers, preaching, and working for the sake of Islam. Among the famous things about him are his frequent fasts, prayers, and reading of the Qur’an.

During his imprisonment in the prisons of the Palestinian Authority, Al-Deif treated his jailers with “affection” and in a way that made many of the preventive officers respect him. Some of them even told him that they had come to respect the Hamas movement through his treatment of them.

The word that Muhammad Al-Deif always repeated was:
