Today’s announcement of the martyrdom of two of our people who were kidnapped from Gaza, in the fascist occupation’s detention centers, under brutal torture. One of them is Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh, head of the orthopedic department at Al-Shifa Hospital, who was kidnapped by the occupation while carrying out his duty at Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. It is an affirmation of the horrific war crimes that continue against our people and their detained children who were taken by the criminal occupation from schools and hospitals to detention centers that lack the most basic human rights. Among them are doctors whose crime was performing their humanitarian duty towards their wounded and sick people.

These ongoing crimes against thousands of our kidnapped people; It requires the international community to work immediately to criminalize and condemn this Nazi behavior, force the occupation to reveal their fate, return them to their families, and unleash the hand of international justice to hold accountable the leaders of the terrorist entity, whose crimes have exceeded all limits, without regard to international laws and treaties, or Human norms.

🚨 A report by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor monitors “the reality of comprehensive repression in the UAE of everything that contradicts government directions and policies, including public expressions of solidarity with Palestine or criticism of Israel ”:

Since 2020, when it established official relations with “Israel,” the UAE has adopted an approach based on prohibiting any positions by individuals or associations that oppose the normalization of relations or direct criticism of “Israel.”

This repressive approach has increased in the UAE since Israel began committing the crime of genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

We documented the arrest and summoning by the UAE authorities of dozens of citizens and foreign residents on its territory due to their expression of positions rejecting Israeli crimes or directing criticism of normalization on social media in recent months.

The UAE punished people who called in publications for a boycott of the goods of “Israel” and its allies, or for increased solidarity and support for the Palestinians.

We received reports that the UAE launched a campaign of intimidation within universities in the country, which included issuing instructions to prevent any forms of protest against “Israel” and threatening academics and student activists with expulsion if they violated this.

The UAE authorities summoned a number of academics at universities, representatives of Arab and Islamic communities, and opinion activists to warn them against organizing any events related to solidarity with Gaza or publicly expressing their opinions against “Israel.”

We previously documented the arrest of the UAE activist Mansour Al-Ahmadi, who heads the Al-Quds Youth Committee in the country, after he was summoned by the State Security Service in the capital, Abu Dhabi, last November, and his fate has remained unknown since that time.

The UAE authorities must end the reality of repression and the climate of intimidation they impose on Emirati citizens and foreign residents, and immediately and unconditionally release all prisoners of conscience.

🚨The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza:

▪️The Ministry of Health condemns the murder of the martyr Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh, head of the orthopedic department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, under torture inside the Israeli occupation prisons. He was arrested along with a group of health personnel while they were on duty during the aggression.

▪️The murder of Doctor Adnan Al-Barsh in the occupation prisons raised the death toll of martyrs in the health sector in Gaza since October 7 to 492 martyrs.

▪️ We call on the international community and health and human rights organizations to intervene and visit the prisoners, protect them in prisons from torture, terrorism and murder, and release them.
