About the initiative of Mr. Abdul Malik Al Houthi regarding Palestinian detainees in Saudi Arabia

The Hamas movement followed with interest the appreciated initiative launched by Mr. Abdul-Malik al-Houthi this Thursday evening regarding the exchange of their prisoners in exchange for the release of Palestinian detainees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Regarding this self-initiative, we highly appreciate the spirit of brotherhood and sympathy with the Palestinian people and support their steadfastness and resistance, and we express our thanks for this interest and initiative.

We also renew our continuous demand to our brothers in Saudi Arabia for the urgent release of all Palestinian detainees from the Kingdom’s prisons, led by Dr. Muhammad al-Khudari Abu Hani. The movement has spared no effort in communicating with the Saudi leadership for nearly a full year, the most recent of which is a call from the head of the political bureau of the movement, Brother Mujahid. Ismail Haniyeh to the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to release the Palestinian detainees who did not cause harm to the Kingdom, and respected the principles of hospitality in a brotherly country without compensation or conditions, for there is no sin they committed and no crime they committed.

We affirm that the issue of Palestine was and will remain the unifying issue of our Arab and Islamic nation, and we call on everyone to unite their efforts to support the Palestinian people and their just cause, hoping for the unity of our nation and bringing it together.
