The fighting brother Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, met with a delegation coordinated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul.

During the meeting, they discussed the zionist aggression against our Palestinian people, especially the Gaza Strip, the efforts made to reach a ceasefire, and the necessity of providing humanitarian aid to our people in the Strip on an ongoing basis, and the Turkish diplomatic efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause, especially in light of the war of genocide that the Palestinian people are exposed to in the Strip.

The head of the movement appreciated the efforts and positions of the Turkish President and Turkish diplomacy, reviewing the overall situation in the Gaza Strip, the crimes of the zionist occupation, and its daily massacres against our families and our people, and the summary of what the indirect negotiations and political efforts have reached to stop this aggression, the dangers facing the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and what the occupation is doing in the city of Al-Quds and the entire West Bank, its violations against prisoners in prisons, and the necessity of an international position to stop the occupation from this widespread aggression in various places.

For his part, the Turkish President stressed Turkey's firm position towards the Palestinian cause and its efforts to stop inhumane practices against the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of holding “israel” accountable for its crimes, and stressing that Turkey will continue to send aid to the Gaza Strip.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to continue consultations on various developments.

Participating in the meeting were Dr. Haqan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Kalin, head of the National Intelligence Service, Fakhr al-Din Altoun, head of the Communications Service, and Mr. Safar Turan, advisor to the president. While the Hamas leadership delegation included brothers Khaled Meshal, Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, Zaher Jabareen, and the movement’s representative in Turkey, Dr. Musa Akkari.
