👈This waste has caused the spread of infectious diseases to thousands of citizens, especially hepatitis and skin diseases, and has become a fertile environment for the breeding of flies, mosquitoes, insects and harmful reptiles, in addition to its environmental impact because citizens set fire to it, which causes pollution with its harmful fumes.

The piles of rubble and ruins of houses, including the bodies of thousands of martyrs decomposing underneath, constitute a dangerous health and environmental hazard, as they emit odors and are exposed to the tampering of stray animals and dogs, which increases the transmission of diseases and infections, and harms the human dignity of these martyrs who could not be buried properly.

Added to this disastrous scene is the spread of hundreds of temporary mass graves, in which citizens were forced to bury their martyrs due to the inaccessibility of the Eastern Cemetery. These graves are spread out in the squares, what remains of the parks and gardens, and inside citizens’ private lands, and all of them lack environmental safety conditions, in addition to... From time to time, it is discovered from mass graves of massacres committed by the occupation against citizens, and the occupation tried to hide their effects by burying them among piles of waste or under the rubble and waste of public places such as schools or hospitals, as happened inside the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and the Sheikh Zayed Towers School.

👈This reality is getting worse in light of the inability of municipalities to deal with these huge quantities of waste and rubble, due to the lack of appropriate machinery and equipment, after the occupation bombed dozens of municipal equipment and machinery, as well as the lack of sufficient fuel to operate the currently available materials and machinery.

👈 Therefore, we warn of this real environmental and health catastrophe, and we hold the occupation responsible for it, and we demand rapid intervention in order to provide the necessary needs for municipalities and civil defense to deal with this situation, especially machinery, equipment, and fuel. We also call for the need for medical and primary care delegations to come to deal with the repercussions of this. The situation is affecting the citizens. We also stress the need for UNRWA and all international institutions and organizations to return to work in the areas of the northern Gaza Strip, and to carry out their functional and humanitarian duty towards our people.
