The first operation, Majdi Abu Wardeh targeted a place where soldiers gathered to wait for the buses transporting them to the military barracks, in occupied Jerusalem on February 25, 1996

The second operation came only hours after the first. Ibrahim al-Sarahna targeted a bus transporting soldiers to their military service sites, also in Jerusalem.

The third operation was carried out by Raed Al-Shaghnoubi about a week after the previous two operations and in the same place where the second operation was carried out.

These three operations confirmed Commander Salama’s correct reading of the occupation’s movements and mentality, as he specifically chose Sunday and Point 18 in occupied Jerusalem due to his knowledge of the density of soldiers.

He emphasized carrying out the third operation at the same point because he realized that the occupation would not expect two operations in the same place in this short period of time.

Commander Salama also wanted to achieve a qualitative blow to the occupation by challenging the security measures imposed by the occupation after the first operation at point 18.

The occupation sentenced him to life imprisonment 48 times. Two years after his arrest, the occupation placed him in solitary confinement that lasted 13 years, and it did not end until the prisoner Salama went on strike in 2012, and the occupation refused to release him during the exchange deal in 2011.
