The captive martyr Walid Daqqa (born on July 18, 1962), a Palestinian prisoner from Baqa al-Gharbiya in occupied Palestine in 1948.

He was imprisoned in 1986 and initially sentenced to death. The sentence was later commuted to 37 years in prison, in addition to an additional two years, in the case of the involvement of the prisoner, Daqqa, in the case of introducing mobile phones to prisoners.

He is considered one of the most prominent thinkers of the prisoner movement. He has written many articles and books, including Diaries of the Resistance in Jenin, Parallel Time, The Fusion of Consciousness, and The Story of the Secret of the Oil, a novel for young people and The Story of the Secret of the Sword in 2022. The Story of the Secret of the Oil won the Emirati Etisalat Award for Young People’s Literature.
