The Israeli army systematically targeted dozens of programmers, IT experts, and workers in this vital sector, in addition to destroying the headquarters of their companies.

The "Israeli" army targeted and killed those with intellects and expertise, especially those with competence in the field of information technology, programming, and computer engineering, and those who were influential in these vital fields, as well as other elites in local society, such as doctors, academics, and others.

Euro-Med documented a list that included several information technology experts, including programming and artificial intelligence, who died as a result of the "Israeli" military attacks that targeted their locations in various places in the Gaza Strip.

Euro-Med’s documentation included the assassination of prominent programming engineer Haitham Muhammad al-Nabahin, who was considered one of the most skilled experts in his field in the sector. He was killed along with his engineer wife, Nasma Zuhair Sadiq, in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house to which they were displaced in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip on March 14.

Euro-Med documented the Israeli army’s killing of Tariq Thabet, director of the UCAS Technology Incubator Programs at the University College in the Gaza Strip, and a graduate of the American Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, through a bombing that targeted his home, which led to the killing of him, his wife, and his children. His parents and a number of his family members.


Among the targets killed by the Israeli army was software engineer Baraa Abdullah Al-Saqqa, founder of DITS and a specialist in programming websites and smartphone applications (senior and lead developer).

The list also included “Muhammad Al-Atal,” who died on October 26, “Hamza Al-Shami” on November 2, “Obaida Khater” on December 20, and “Anas Al-Sheikh on the 9th of the month.” Himself, and "Abdul Rahman Hamada" on March 15, in addition to another group of young programmers, including "Rami Al-Sousi", "Abdul Hamid Al-Fayoumi", "Bilal Zaqout", "Ahmed Nidal Qaddoura", engineer "Mohamed Hassouna" and others. .


The Euro-Mediterranean Observatory stressed that the crimes pursued by "Israel", including the targeting and killing of Palestinian competencies and elites, and the widespread and deliberate destruction of companies and infrastructure, would hinder the development of Palestinian society in the Gaza Strip in general, and undermine its scientific, educational and economic system.

- The crimes pursued by "Israel" aim to deprive vital sectors of Palestinian society of specialized and distinguished cadres that are difficult to replace in the near term, in addition to creating a state of panic and coercion among the rest of the competencies, which may push them to emigrate.
