A kidnapped poet !
After the UAE kidnapped Turkish-Egyptian poet Abdulrahman Yusuf from Lebanon following his return from a visit to Syria, where he celebrated with Syrians after the fall of Assad, on December 28, 2024, the UAE “sentenced” him to 10 years in prison over poems he wrote criticizing the UAE’s role in Arab countries
Today, a UAE personality announced that the kidnapped poet has been granted release and “has cases against him in Egypt.”
This could mean he will be transferred to Egypt, where he will likely face torture or death, since he also wrote poems criticizing the Sisi coup regime.
This was the last video of him in Syria, where he said:
“We ask Allah to grant the Syrian people success in confronting all these malicious challenges being plotted against them by the entire world.
And among those plotting and conspiring are the regimes of Arab disgrace, and the Arab Zionists in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt…”

▪️More than 8,000 bodies remain under the rubble of destroyed buildings in various areas of the Gaza Strip.
▪️The Engineers' Tower, located near 20th Street north of Nuseirat refugee camp, was targeted by Israeli airstrikes during the genocide.

▪️The search and recovery operation is being conducted with very limited resources, as the Civil Defense is working at the site with only one excavator.

A another prisoner of opinion dies in prison.
Tunisian Mohammad Ali Ben Khamis, from Sidi Hussein, who had a disability certificate, died after his health deteriorated in Mornaguia Prison amid high temperatures, water outages, and not receiving his medication regularly.
He was detained over a social media post and spent around 2 weeks in Bouchoucha before transferred to Mornaguia Prison on August 14.
His family said they had repeatedly tried to deliver his medication to him. During their first visit, he appeared to be in a state of collapse and pleaded for his medication and to be released from prison.
By their next visit, his condition had deteriorated severely, and according to his family, he was unable to speak or stand normally.
When the family returned 2 days later to meet the prison director, they were told that he had been transferred to Charles Nicolle Hospital. They later learned that he had died.
