"I don't want to teach any one of you about what is happening in Gaza. 30,000 people dead, 1.8 million displaced, 500,000 people on the brink of starvation. We are facing now a population fighting for their own survival.

Humanitarian assistance needs to get into Gaza and the European Union is working as much as we can in order to make it possible. But this is a humaniatarian crisis which is not a natural disaster. It is not the flood. It is not an earthquake. It is man-made.

And when we look for alternative ways of providing support by sea or by air, we have to remind that we have to do it because the natural way of providing support through roads is being closed - artificially closed - and starvation is being used as a war arm.

And when we condemn this happening in Ukraine, we have to use the same words for what's happening in Gaza."

US commission ends Saudi trip early after Jewish chair told to remove kippah head covering

A US delegation on “religious freedom” (USCIRF) said it cut short its visit to Saudi Arabia after its chair Orthodox Rabbi Abraham Cooper was asked to remove his Jewish head covering, or kippah.

The delegation was near Riyadh visiting Diriyah, a UNESCO world heritage site when the incident took place.
Saudi officials allegedly wanted his kippah removed at the site and when he was to be in public.

The USCIRF said it was particularly regrettable that it happened to the representative of "an American government agency that promotes religious freedom."

There was no comment from Saudi Arabia yet.

Tensions between Saudi Arabia and US ally Israel have spiked due to the ongoing genocide on Gaza that has killed more than 31,000 Palestinians till date.

🔺Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a statement condemning the murder of two Jordanian citizens in Tulkarm in the West Bank by Israeli forces and demanding the occupation state to open an investigation into the murders.

The victims have been identified as Tawfik Hussein and Muhammad Jaber. Hussein came from Jordan to visit his aunt when Israeli soldiers shot him and left him for an hour and a half to bleed, preventing medical teams from reaching him, until he died.
