The American newspaper (The New York Times) revealed that President Biden's administration is holding talks with Israel, Lebanon, and Hezbollah figures, with the aim of easing the current tension and restoring calm in the long term by removing Hezbollah forces from the border.

The newspaper quoted unnamed officials that the first goal of the secret negotiations is to prevent skirmishes between Israel and Hezbollah from escalating into an all-out war, but long-term solutions are also on the table.

The newspaper, citing officials, said that the talks led by the American mediator (Amos Hochstein) will directly focus on preventing the current skirmishes on the border from turning into a comprehensive conflict.
