Yahya Ayyash was martyred on January 5, 1996 after Israel remotely detonated the phone he was using while making a call to his father.
When his father was martyred, he was only 3 years old, and because of Israel’s persecution of Yahya, he was not able to stay with his son Baraa for long.
In 2019, the army published an audio recording of this call seconds before Yahya was martyred
Al-Baraa, on his Twitter account at the time, said in his tweet: “Today, for the first time, I heard my father’s voice.”
