The Palestinians were prostrating to God in the second rak’ah at dawn on Friday, February 25, 1994. The settler Baruch Goldstein entered the Ibrahimi Mosque and opened fire with his machine gun on the worshipers.
He killed 29 Palestinian worshipers while they were kneeling to God, and wounded hundreds of worshipers. The Palestinians went out in angry marches, as a result of which more than 50 Palestinians were killed.
