📌 Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital

🔹 Yesterday, suddenly, tanks and bulldozers approached the western gate of Kamal Adwan Hospital under heavy fire directed towards the hospital and its departments. Bullets penetrated the intensive care unit, the maternity ward, and the specialized surgery department. Fortunately, we had evacuated the patients to the hospital corridors, but some bullets exploded inside the wards, creating a state of fear and panic among the patients.

🔹 In addition, one of the generators was targeted, completely putting it out of service due to the fire. There were also attempts to target the fuel tank, but fortunately, it did not explode.

🔹 Currently, we have 91 patients in the hospital, including elderly, children and women. We are still providing minimal services.

🔹 We have asked the international community for protection and humanitarian assistance, and we have called for the opening of humanitarian corridors to bring in what is needed. However, so far, we have received only a very small amount of aid, and we continue to appeal to the international community to protect and do its part.

🔹 It is clear that we are under constant threat on a daily basis. The shelling is ongoing from all directions, affecting the building, the departments and the staff. This is a very serious and terrifying situation. The world must understand that our hospital is being targeted with the intent to kill and forcefully displace.

🔹 We urge the international community to intervene quickly and stop this violent attack on us, to protect the health system, its workers, and the patients within it.

🔹 The bombing did not stop throughout the night, destroying surrounding houses and buildings. Since this morning, the hospital has been targeted with bombs in its courtyards and on its roof, dropped by drones, once again threatening our fuel and oxygen supplies.

🔹 The situation is very serious and needs urgent international intervention before it is too late.
