Update: The death of 17 Emirati officers in an armed attack occurred at Gordon Base in the capital, Mogadishu, which is the largest military base for the Emirati forces in Somalia.

The gunmen targeted the headquarters within the base while more than 20 officers from the Emirates and their mercenaries from Western and African countries were present.
