The occupation forces arrested Duweikat on 8/1/2023 after a masked force from the army stormed his home, and he was tied up, blindfolded, and taken to Hawara camp; where he remained for a whole day without food or drink and among the trees and was even deprived of relieving himself, and was then transferred to Ofer and subjected to investigation for 4 hours.

After the investigation; Diaa was transferred to Megiddo prison, during the trial sessions held via video, he was prevented from speaking with his lawyer and the judge, and in January 2024 he was transferred to administrative detention.

Duweikat was wearing glasses as he complains of eye problems, but the occupation broke them after his arrest, which led to him feeling constantly dizzy, in addition to his inability to see clearly.

In addition to that; He suffers from bone cancer, and had undergone chemotherapy and biological therapy for nearly 7 years
