Why did Netanyahu dismiss Gallant on the morning of the U.S. elections?

Because he believed the indicators suggested that Trump would win, and Gallant is a man of the Democratic administration in his government.

There are major differences between them, and Netanyahu had dismissed him before, but he was forced to reinstate him.

The immediate reason for Netanyahu’s dismissal of Gallant was Gallant’s decision to call up 7,000 Haredi Jews to the army.

Why does Netanyahu oppose the conscription of the Haredim?

Because if the Haredim ( for you gentiles, Haredim is plural for haredi) are called up to the army, it means that the Shas and United Torah Judaism parties will leave the government, which would lead to the collapse of Netanyahu’s government.

Shas has 11 seats in the Knesset, and UTJ has 7 seats.

And Netanyahu needs at least 61 seats to maintain the government.

Why do the Haredim refuse conscription?

It’s a long story that requires historical context, perhaps for another time.
