Press release issued by the Popular Front on the 107th anniversary of the infamous Balfour Declaration
🔴 Popular Front: The Balfour Declaration is a major crime that will not be subject to the statute of limitations and confirms Britain's responsibility for the tragedy and catastrophe of our people and its involvement in the ongoing war of extermination
On this day, November 2, our people and all of humanity remember with sadness, pain and anger the 107th anniversary of the infamous Balfour Declaration, announced by the terrorist British Foreign Secretary and war criminal Arthur Balfour in 1917, which granted the right to the land of Palestine to those who did not deserve it.
This promise constituted a major historical crime that legitimized the usurpation of the land of Palestine and the rights and displacement of our Palestinian people, confirming Britain’s direct responsibility for the ongoing catastrophe of our people to this day. The tragedy of our people is still ongoing, under the Zionist occupation that continues to commit the most heinous massacres, organized terrorism and war of extermination, as is happening in Gaza.
The continued British support for this criminal entity is one of the most prominent reasons that reinforced the reality of the occupation and the continuation of its crimes. Colonial Britain, which sought to impose its hegemony in the region, bears moral and historical responsibility for everything that happened and continues to happen to our people. This support is not merely collusion, but rather a complete partnership in the war of extermination.
We, in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, on the 107th anniversary of the infamous Balfour Declaration, affirm the following:
1. We will not forget or forgive Britain for committing this great crime and causing the catastrophe of our people, and we hold it directly responsible for the ongoing suffering of our people.
2. We demand that the British government recognize the rights of the Palestinian people and compensate them for the damages inflicted on them as a result of this ominous promise, as a necessary step to achieve justice and atone for its great crime.
3. We stress the importance of raising global awareness about the disastrous effects of the Balfour Declaration, and we call on the free people in Britain who filled the squares with hundreds of thousands in condemnation of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip to continue to pressure the British government to assume its historical responsibilities, and to contribute immediately to stopping the ongoing crime of genocide in Gaza and Lebanon.
4. We emphasize the role of institutions and groups that support and stand in solidarity with our people in activating the international arena through international institutions and the International Criminal Court to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes, and the necessity of supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, and holding Britain accountable for its historical role in the Nakba of our people and the tragedy whose chapters they are still living, and also for its involvement in the war of extermination in Gaza and Lebanon.
5. We affirm our continuation of the struggle and resistance in all forms, foremost of which is armed resistance, until the aggression and the effects of this ominous promise are defeated, regardless of the sacrifices and the extent of Western and British collusion in particular.
Finally, we in the Popular Front affirm that the Balfour Declaration will remain an open wound in the memory of our people, and a crime that will not be forgotten. We will remain loyal to the blood of our heroic martyrs, and we will continue our struggle relentlessly until liberation and return.
