On December 17, 2022, The Open Network put forward a proposal to optimize TON’s tokenomics. There were a number of wallets on TON Blockchain that had mined Toncoin over two years before, but had remained inactive since.

On February 21, 2023, TON validators voted to freeze the inactive wallets of early miners for 48 months and, as a result, Toncoin’s total market capitalization reached $4.7B.

Following this market capitalization boost, Toncoin entered CoinMarketCap’s TOP-15 and is currently ranked 14th.
