and one thing you should know is that the thought and time put into the present you're making matter more than the money you spend on it (especially if you find a way to include your inside jokes)

I'll sit with you in the trenches until the coast's finally clear,
Until the darkness steps back, giving way to sunlight —
My love for you runs deeper than an underground river,
And I'll hold your hand through every violent fight.

You're strong but you let the walls fall when you stand next to me,
And I get to be the only witness to your pain and bruises.
My touch isn't magical but I will help you heal eventually,
Though of the effect of a true love you may be clueless.

I see the quiet ache in the blue waters of your wells —
Your eyes are the mirror of your soul, untouched by hurt.
You're capable of surviving, capable of saving yourself,
And I wish you knew just how much you truly deserve.

I'm standing by your side, my dear, my love.
I'm not letting anyone darken your spark.

I am in love with
the sun; I can't put it into words.
the way my heart warms up
when I see these rays of it,
shyly looking out at me
from behind the trees...
