'Государственный департамент США объявил предупреждение 2-го уровня о поездках в Италию.

Ранее в Италии действовал базовый уровень рекомендаций 1, как и в большинстве других европейских стран, согласно которому путешественникам просто рекомендовалось «соблюдать обычные меры предосторожности» во время визита.

Однако из-за возросшей угрозы насилия, связанного с терроризмом, Государственный департамент повысил уровень безопасности Италии до 2-го.

Существует четыре уровня рекомендаций по международным поездкам:
уровень 1 («соблюдайте обычные меры предосторожности»),
уровень 2 («соблюдайте повышенную осторожность»), уровень 3 («пересмотрите поездку») и уровень 4 («не путешествуйте»).

В предупреждении говорится, что террористы «могут атаковать практически без предупреждения», и американцам рекомендуется с осторожностью относиться к обычным целям, включая туристические места, транспортные узлы, торговые центры и рынки, здания местных органов власти, отели, клубы, рестораны, религиозные объекты, парки, спортивные и культурные мероприятия, школы, аэропорты и общественные места.

Тем, кто решит отправиться в Италию,  рекомендуется сохранять бдительность в туристических местах, проверять местные СМИ на предмет последних новостей и зарегистрироваться в  Программе регистрации умных путешественников (STEP),  чтобы получать сообщения и оповещения от посольства США.

Также рекомендуется быть готовым изменить планы во время пребывания за границей и разработать план действий на случай возникновения возможных чрезвычайных ситуаций.

Во Франции, Германии, Испании и Великобритании в настоящее время также действуют рекомендации 2-го уровня от Госдепартамента'.
