In the US, police have started using surveillance drones "to catch drivers texting while driving, or not wearing a seatbelt".
"It can zoom in so far that you could just about read somebody's text on their phone."
How long until facial recognition is integrated into these drones, and they start being used to enforce climate lockdowns, or making sure people don't leave their allocated 15-minute districts?
One thing is clear—this technology unlocks endless possibilities for dystopian control, all of which will be framed as "necessary" to keep you "safe".
