As a human, Jane Prentiss seemed to be an unhappy and anxious person. She was very insecure, being particularly uncomfortable with her skin, leading to her having nervous tendencies that tended to negatively affect her relationships. As a result, she was lonely and felt a strong desire to be part of something bigger than herself, although all of her attempts to connect with the world around her resulted in self-deception. Upon becoming infected by the Corruption, her mental state steadily became more and more alien, to the point where she could not coherently converse with other humans. When her body became infested by worms she began to live in constant fear and disgust at the creatures burrowing around inside of her. However, a different part of her appreciated the creatures, feeling that they were making her feel needed and loved in a way that she could never feel otherwise.
