Ten Commandments of how to make our class communicative:
1. Giving lengthy input but asking a few managable questions to give students the chance of language exposure
2. Repetition: By repetition I don't mean formal and verbal repetition but at discourse level with different linguistic, pedagogic, social, cognitive, and interactive functions
3. Task design for teaching, assessment and testing by task I mean meaningful, purposeful, authentic qualities with a real outcome.
4. Giving feedback while teaching and after assessment 5. Being firm and resistant when it comes to speaking English. The teacher language is the best and the most valuable authentic source of input for the students. Students learn best by means of our own input.
6. Creating an air of cooperation among the students and making groups of two to four to foster interaction among learners
7. Integrating all four skills together in our teaching practice
8. Asking students to talk and write more by engaging them in project work and making them present for class members
9. Making use of social media and extend the context of learning beyond the fourwalled borders of the classes
10. Personalizing class activities and asking learners to connect class activities to their life.
