Today all that remains to mark the location where the house once stood is a small sign on what’s called “Tanners Close”, which is a new estate that doesn’t do justice to the traditional architecture of the city. The spot where the four once operated is now a modern hotel (26 King's Stables Rd, Edinburgh EH1) and a series of modern apartments. Looking at them, considering how wonderful the centre of Edinburgh is, I’d rather there was nothing there at all than that which will deplete future generations understanding of Edinburgh’s unique identity. I’m one for supporting wealth among those who earn it, but no amount of money or so called, “economic progress” should ever come at the expense of our own architecture, culture and heritage.

The concept of friendship has been utterly distorted. People's excuses to be around others & naturally find connections have been stripped & replaced with soulless, noisy, uninviting bars. A wholesome, down to earth #Pub will never be equalled.

Bartolomeo Cristofori di Francesco (Italian) [1655 –1731] was an Italian maker of musical instruments, most famously he was known for inventing the piano as we know it.
The 1720 Cristofori piano can be seen in the Metropolitan Museum in New York
Never for one second let it be said that we are in any way shape or form, comparable.

"For over twenty years, numerous mountaineers ascending Mount Everest have encountered "Green Boots," a deceased climber who lost his life near the summit in 1996.
Presently, the presence of Green Boots' body serves as a grim milestone for climbers, indicating their proximity to the summit.
Despite ongoing uncertainty about Green Boots' identity, his remains are among several that tragically mark the route to the top of the world's highest and most perilous mountain."
