This interesting display of bagged stones can be seen on the river bank of the #Thames just outside the @UniofGreenwich, #London.
A clever way to build resistance against a tide which has previously flooded the walkway. #Greenwich is full of surprises if you take the time to look.

155 Trafalgar Road, #Greenwich, #London - Pub closed in 2011 & reopened as the "King William Hotel" in April 2014. It closed again in 2016 ; changed it's name to "Ye Olde Turk," (Turkish Restaurant). Another loss to our pub scene.

Antique stalls in #Greenwich, South #London are brilliant, this is a #French Bayonet from #WW1, which like the rest of the stock is in truly amazing condition. Have a look at this little beauty.
Previously in use during 19th centruy, the lady suggested they were later used in #WW1, But from the looks of it they may have been through the #FrancoPrussian war, the final revolution and much more.

A brilliant 18th Century depiction of #London's river Thames, it's north bank & the old '#cityofLondon' by Giovanni Antonio Canaletto (1697-1768). Sir Christopher Wren's St Paul's Cathedral was complete in 1710, the painting displays a recovered city, postโฆ
Another lovely painting by Giovanni Canaletto depicting the #Greenwich Hospital (later used by the Royal Naval College) from the north bank of the #Thames & designed by #ChristopherWren. Originally called' The Royal Hospital for Seamen', it was the great project of Queen Mary II.
Looking for a #Lantern? These beauties are on sale in #Greenwich at on the wonderful 'Greenwich Vintage Market' (2 Greenwich Church St, #London SE10 9BQ). Be it for a pub or a home, these are charming additions to any property. @Britains___Pubs
The spectacular @TrafalgarT Trafalgar Tavern is an opulent pub/function building in the Royal Borough of #Greenwich, #London.
This was a special day for me, at different times it included some very special people in places that mean the world to me.
Built in 1837, the year Queen Victoria ascended to the throne, it was a small inn (The Old George) which served local fisherman.
Popular due to its prominent position on the River Thames & sitting so close to Greenwich Hospital/Woolwich Dockyard.
