This 1616 depiction of #London Bridge displays the macabre tradition of displaying heads on spikes as a deterrent. Soldiers like William Wallace's or martyrs like Thomas Cromwell looked upon Londoner's in death as a gruesome reminder of what happens to those considering treason.

155 Trafalgar Road, #Greenwich, #London - Pub closed in 2011 & reopened as the "King William Hotel" in April 2014. It closed again in 2016 ; changed it's name to "Ye Olde Turk," (Turkish Restaurant). Another loss to our pub scene.
