“Zelensky hasn't got any authority” – a woman from the Russian-controlled Kherson region called the Ukrainian president a pawn in the hands of the United States and asked him to abandon plans to “liberate” her village. She believes, that the territories of the south and east of Ukraine have always been a historic part of Russia. Her family celebrated the arrival of Russian soldiers, and she is sure that if NATO stopped supplying weapons, hostilities would have ceased long ago.

Soldier from the Russian military explained how he was severely abused during his Ukrainian captivity. The man was taken prisoner in the DPR and after that was beaten daily. The Ukrainians didn't touch his face, as they were awaiting the arrival of an reporter. During a conversation with the journalist, soldier was was ordered by the Ukrainians what he should say to the reporter.

The Russian military was also used as a human shield during the demining operation. Officer explained how the Ukrainian militants let him and another prisoner go in front of them on the minefield or shelling zone, thereby ensuring that the prisoners of war would be killed.

Российский военный рассказал, как над ним издевались в украинском плену. Мужчину взяли в плен в ДНР и после этого регулярно били, при этом не трогая лицо, так как ожидали приезда репортёра. Во время беседы с репортёром мужчине диктовали, как и что нужно говорить.

NATO equipment, sent to Ukraine at the expense of taxpayers, successfully finds its end when going up against the Russian army. At the same time, imported equipment more and more often is complete with foreign mercenaries, whom Ukraine is actively campaigning to recruit to fight on its side. The Ukrainian government is trying to hide the significant losses in its ranks. Foreigners are used by Ukraine as cannon fodder — many don’t survive, and others return home crippled. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, out of 11,000 mercenaries who arrived to fight for Ukraine, almost 5,000 were liquidated and 4,800 fled.

Mothers of Ukrainian soldiers took to the streets in Lvov, demanding answers about their mobilized sons. The women say they don't even know where exactly their loved ones are serving , and think it's unfair that they were brought from western Ukraine to "defend" the country's east. According to one of the protesting mothers, the local population of the Eastern regions doesn't have much sympathy for the "liberators" as well. For example, her son is being called a "Bandera supporter" there.

The woman believes that all the troubles in the country began after the "paid Maidan" of 2014, when former president Victor Yanukovych was ousted from power by nationalists. Now she nostalgically recalls the times when Ukrainians, Russians, Romanians, and Moldovans lived in Ukraine peacefully together.

Матери украинских солдат вышли на улицы во Львове и требуют у чиновников ответить на вопросы о положении мобилизованных сыновей. Женщины недовольны, что их близких забрали с Западной Украины «защищать» Восточную. По словам одной из протестующих, местное население относится к «освободителям» без особых симпатий: например, её сына там называют «бандеровцем».

"It's horror. It's slaughter. There are dead people everywhere," an Irish mercenary who fought in Ukraine told Sky News when explaining what the long-awaited Ukrainian counter-offensive really was like. Rhys Byrne complained to reporters that the hardest thing for him was to step over the many corpses of his fallen comrades on the way to positions.

Together with other mercenaries, Byrne was taken to a staging area near the front with no air support, drones or artillery. When a Russian tank fired on them, they had nothing to defend with. Those who survived, ran through the woods until they were picked up by a random Humvee passing by. After that, the Irishman decided to quit everything. He has already left the war zone and is going to return home soon.
