Any strong movements in financial markets begin with the publication of news: statistics have been released, some negotiations have taken place, force majeure has occurred - all this will be reflected in the price chart. So, each currency pair reflection of the economic, political and social stability of two countries.

The economic calendar is a summary of indicators for different countries. In it traders can see the importance of a particular event, the actual, forecast and prior value.

The economic calendar reflects fundamental factors:

✅ political: negotiations, elections of the head of state or parliamentary elections, change of power;
✅ force majeure: military actions, revolutions, natural disasters, man-made disasters, etc.;
✅ psychological: rumors, expectations;
✅ economic: publication of macroeconomic statistics.

The trader can filter events by country, and also specify the period for which he wants to view the news. For example, in the EURUSD pair, the US dollar represents the United States and the euro represents the eurozone. Accordingly, a trader trading this pair will be interested in events that are happening in America and the European Union.

Some indicator has increased, it would seem that this should have a positive effect on the currency. But instead of growth there is a fall. Let's figure out how to interpret economic calendar data and what you should pay attention to.

What influences the market the most is how the actual compares to the forecast.

📈If the actual is better than the forecast, as a rule, there is a rise in the currency.
📉 If the actual is worse than forecast, this usually leads to decrease in the currency.

‼️Prior values may be revised. For example, a country's statistics service admits that it has calculated an incorrectly determined value for a particular month and may recalculate it. This may also affect the exchange rate and financial market dynamics of the country.

⚠️ Please note that some indicators don't have numerical values because these indicators are not accompanied by the publication of statistics.

The events of the economic calendar have varying degrees of importance.These indicators are worth paying attention to first. As volatility at the time of these news release can be very high, and, accordingly, the risks increase:

✅ If GDP grows, we can conclude that the state’s currency will also grow.

✅ If the Consumer Price Index rises, it will cause the currency to fall.

✅ An increase in the unemployment rate has a bad effect on the economy and the national currency;

✅ Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP): It is statistics of the number of new jobs outside of agriculture. If the data on this indicator turns out to be better than the forecast, the dollar on the world market, as a rule, grows, and if it turns out to be weak, the dollar falls.

✅ The growth of retail sales can be used to judge the growth of the national currencies;

Also important are data on oil reserves, speeches by heads of central banks, prime ministers and presidents of countries.
