How to use an Economic Calendar?

1️⃣ Use filters to customize the calendar according to your interests and goals.

2️⃣ A currency pair consists of two currencies, representing the market sentiment balance between two countries. For example, in the EUR/USD pair, the US dollar represents the United States, and the euro represents the Eurozone. Therefore, traders dealing with this pair would be interested in events occurring in both America and Eurozone countries.

3️⃣ Pay attention to the importance rating of events, marked as "high," "medium," or "low." Important events usually have a greater impact on the markets.

4️⃣ After the publication of economic data or news, analyze their impact on the markets. Compare actual data with analysts' expectations. Combine this information with History Signals. And observe how the markets react to these events.

5️⃣ It is not recommended to open trades during the release of important news.

It is also important to consider the overall market context and other factors that may influence your strategy. Economic events are always viewed in relation to current geopolitical events, market trends, and other factors.

Bollinger Bands are a simple yet effective tool for analyzing market trends. Let's look at an easy and efficient trading strategy with Bollinger Bands

Characteristics of the strategy

Type: scalping
Timeframe: 30 second - 60 seconds
Trading assets: any forex pairs with high intraday volatility

Chart Setup

👉 Bollinger Bands (period 40, deviation =2 ) reports the direction and volatility of the current trend, and the horizontal movement of the lines will show flat − in this case, it is better to stay out of the market, especially if the price moves in a narrow channel.

👉 Relative Strength Index (period 6). Trend indicators must necessarily be confirmed by at least one oscillator indicating an overbought when buyers can no longer move the price up, or oversold where there is almost no one in the market to sell at lower prices.


Trading signals

⬆️ CALL Option. When the price goes up from lower BB line and RSI also goes up from level 20.

⬇️ PUT Option. When the price goes down from higher BB line and RSI also goes down from level 80.

💡 For turbo-options, it is highly not recommended to use Martingale or doubling the next transaction to compensate for the losses of the previous one. At small timeframes, mostly "market noise" is traded, trends last no more than 3-5 candles and it is better to wait for a strong signal on the strategy. You can vary the amount of the option depending on the strength of the vfxAlert signal.

Chart Setup

👉 Donchian Channel (DC). Options on rollbacks from the channel borders or breakdown of the center line. We trade only on the channel width of 20-30 points.

👉 MACD. This indicator works both as a trend and as an oscillator instrument, so it will be the final signal to open an option.

Trading signals

⬆️ CALL Option. Rollback of the price from the lower border of Donchian or upward breakdown of the middle line of the channel. Green MACD above the zero level.

⬇️ PUT Option. Opposite conditions: a rollback from the upper border or downward breakdown of the middle channel. Red MACD is below zero.

We look at how the price moves, if we are calmly waiting for expiration in profit. When the market goes against the option, we wait 2-3 minutes (half of the expiration). You need to understand: a reversal or a short pullback after which the trend will recover?

Downtrend continues? Then we open reverse (LOWER) hedging option. We do not change the amount, the expiration is 2 minutes (then the HIGHER option ends). The reverse conditions for LOWER: after 2 minutes uptrend continuation and HIGHER option hedge.
