New update to 15.05.54 has been released!

What's new?

- Updated Vanced to YouTube v15.05.54.

- Auto subtitles has been replaced with Live Captions

- The old mini video player has been removed (Google removed it completely 😢)

- Whatever bug fixes Google made to YouTube over the past 9 months :P

Things to note:

- Magisk installation is no longer supported, the Magisk and root installation method are now the same.

- The installation methods for non-root and root have changed, look below for a tutorial.

- MIUI users installing the non-root variant will need to follow a special installation guide (check below), because Xiaomi has fucked up MIUI (in classic Xiaomi fashion).

Known issues:

- Auto repeat is not present in this build. It will be fixed on Feb 30th.

- Accessibility button toggle is removed due to it being broken. Will be added back later.

- Chinese ROMs (MIUI, EMUI, ColorOS, etc.) have broken PiP (usually). It's advised to just disable PiP for Vanced entirely if you use those ROMs.

- Some tablets will get a force close immediately after opening the app. Not sure what causes this issue.

NON-ROOT INSTALLATION GUIDE:

1) Install MicroG

2) Install the SAI (Split APK Installer) app

3) Select the .apks file you downloaded

4) Click "install"

ROOT INSTALLATION GUIDE:

1) Disable APK verification using a Magisk module or similar app (this module works on Android 9 or lower). If you’re on Android 10, you can use Xposed + CorePatcher (click here for installation instructions).

2) Install the SAI (Split APK Installer) app and enable root mode

3) Select the .apks file you download

4) Click "install"

NOTE: Yes, a certain warez app commonly associated with the color yellow can also achieve disabling APK verification - useful if you don’t want to/can’t install Xposed. But if you mention the name of said app in the chat, I will also verify you get your speaking privileges revoked.

MIUI INSTALLATION GUIDE:
(aka the "haha MIUI is such a garbage ROM you have to use a special snowflake installation" method)

Option A:
1) Deactivate MIUI optimization in Developer Options (this can delete all permissions for apps).
2) Open SAI and check that "signed APK" option is disabled and proceed with installation of Vanced (follow non-root installation guide above)

NOTE: If you can't install, check if original YouTube is installed. You need hibernate or disable the app until installation was completed.

Option B:
1) Install Shiziku from https://shizuku.rikka.app/ following all instructions carefully
2) enable Shiziku Mode in SAI
3) install Vanced like you would on any other phone (check instructions above)

Option C:
(How to install the new Vanced via ADB)
1) Download the .apks file
3) Extract the .apks file (it's just a ZIP)
4) Rename the
YouTube_15.05.54_API21(nodpi)(vBlack-v2.1.0)-vanced.apk
to
YouTube_15.05.54_API21nodpivBlack-v2.1.0-vanced.apk
5) Run this command while connected to your phone:

adb install-multiple YouTube_15.05.54_API21nodpivBlack-v2.1.0-vanced.apk config.arm64_v8a.apk config.xxxhdpi.apk split_config.en.apk

NOTE: If you want to install a language other than English, add it at the end of the command (for example split_config.de.apk)
If you're on Dark, instead of Black, replace Black with Dark in the command.

5) Install MicroG manually on your phone

Just some more info:

1) If you're installing the root version, DO NOT ENABLE "Sign APKs" option in SAI. This will leave you unable to log in.

2) Magisk module will soon be removed from repo. The module wasn't updated in the first place because disabling APK signature verification is required to install the app. So pour one out for the module 😢🍻

3) To disable signature verification in Android 10, you can:

• Follow the instructions to install Xposed and CorePatcher to patch signature verification.

You can uninstall Xposed after completing this.

If you don’t want to use Xposed, you will need to use the yellow smiley face warez app which cannot be named and do the following:

• Go to Toolbox > Patch to Android > Disable APK Signature Verification

Then you can uninstall the warez app.

Note that this is for Android 10 users. Android 9 users can use the Smali Patcher module in the original channel post.

Also note that the yellow app might cause certain device configs to bootloop.

AND AGAIN, DO NOT ASK WHERE TO OBTAIN OR MENTION THE NAME OF THE YELLOW APP IN THE GROUP. I'm not responsible for any fbans because you were too lazy to read. Use PM's like everyone else ;)

Regarding #3, @Deprcated sent me an alternative app for Xposed users in case you don't want to use the yellow smiley face warez app to disable signature verification.

Instructions below.

Install Riru - Core from Magisk Module Repo in Magisk Manger

Install EdXposed Manager from GitHub
Download the canary release and make sure you're on the latest Magisk
(Or you may experience bootloop)

Flash the downloaded zip from EdXposed Manager in Magisk Manager and reboot

Install CorePatch(核心破解) and toggle the module in EdXposed, open CorePatch and configure it.

Install Vanced with SAI or adb
