Creative industries are becoming increasingly popular career choices, with more students enrolling in related courses at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). David Tneh Cheng Eng, Dean of UTAR Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI), notes that these industries have evolved with content creation and digitalization taking the lead, and being a key opinion leader is now a viable career choice.
In addition, the attention economy has led to changes in marketing and advertising, with more targeted approaches being deployed to win over consumers.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between UTAR and five secondary schools from Sibu, Sarawak was held on 13 April 2023 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. The five schools included SMK Sacred Heart, SMK Rosli Dhoby, SMK Methodist, SMK Saint Elizabeth and SMK Deshon.
Signing the MoU at the ceremony were UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, SMK Sacred Heart Principal Mr David Teo, SMK Rosli Dhoby Principal Mr Tan Kok Aun, SMK Methodist Principal Mr Philip Ling Swee Nge, SMK Saint Elizabeth Principal Ms Chee Hue Yiang, and SMK Deshon Principal Mr Tan Kim Hock.

Malaysia Mental Literacy Movement (MMLM), together with the UTAR Centre for Corporate and Community Development (CCCD) and Division of Programme Promotion (DPP), organise a talk at SMJK Katholik, Petaling Jaya, on 11 April 2023. The event aimed to promote mental literacy and enhance interest in studying among 560 Form 3 students from the school.
West Wong, Human Calculator, gave an informative and practical talk titled "Be a Smart Student in the 21st Century" at the event. Students learned techniques to memorise math formulas and improve study skills, potentially boosting exam results. The counsellor praised the event for providing hands-on learning experiences, which motivated students. The event received positive feedback and support from the school. ๐
