New Study: Surveyed Business Leaders Expect Significant ROI from Quantum Optimization

According to the study, 46% of surveyed business leaders whose company has implemented quantum optimization or plans to do so within the next two years expect a return on investment of between $1 and $5 million, while 27% predict a return of more than $5 million in the first 12 months.

🚀 𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬: 𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗦𝗔-𝟮𝟬𝟰𝟴 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 (“𝗤-𝗗𝗮𝘆”)?

This isn’t hype; it’s based on three recent breakthroughs:

IBM’s 2029 Roadmap targets a fault-tolerant machine with ~200 logical qubits by 2029, scaling toward 1,000+ logical qubits in the early 2030s

Gidney’s Algorithmic Leap shows just 1,000–1,400 logical qubits running for about a week can crack RSA-2048 with modern error-correction techniques

Oxford’s Fidelity Record (single-qubit gate error ≈ 1×10⁻⁷) suggests each logical qubit may soon require far fewer physical qubits

🔒 What This Means

Shor’s algorithm, along with these advances, results in the imminent collapse of RSA, ECC, and Diffie-Hellman.

⚠️ Act Now

Michele Mosca’s rule says if (Data shelf-life + Migration time) > Years until Q-Day, you’re in danger. With Q-Day likely by 2030 and large-scale migrations taking 5–10 years, the window to deploy quantum-safe cryptography is already closing. NIST recommends deprecating vulnerable algorithms by 2030 and eliminating them by 2035—so starting today is imperative.

🔬 Workshop Scope
Quantum Machine Learning (QML) is rapidly transforming how we approach signal processing, AI, and interdisciplinary applications. Building on the success of the ICASSP 2025 QML workshop, this year we expand into biomedical signal processing and neural decoding, alongside traditional signal tasks such as time-series forecasting, audio processing, and communication networks.

Topics include (but are not limited to):
1. Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQAs), Quantum LSTMs, and QCNNs
2. Quantum-enhanced biosignal decoding and brain–machine interfaces
3. Federated and privacy-preserving Quantum ML
4. Robustness, interpretability, and adversarial quantum learning
