An opportunity to work at the intersection of quantum algorithms and real hardware, developing applications that move quantum computing from concept to capability.

You’ll join a dedicated applications engineering team developing and testing quantum algorithms across multiple hardware platforms — collaborating with physicists, software engineers, and external partners to explore what today’s systems can truly deliver.

Ideal profile:
• PhD (or equivalent experience) in quantum computing, physics, or a related field
• Track record in quantum applications research or project delivery
• Hands-on with algorithms for simulation, optimisation, or machine learning
• Strong Python skills + experience with quantum SDKs (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, etc.)

سال گذشته، جایزه‌ی نوبل را به جان هاپفیلد و جفری هنتون دادند، بابت «برای کشفیات و اختراعات بنیادی که یادگیری ماشین با شبکه‌های عصبی مصنوعی را ممکن می‌سازند.» پس از دادن این جایزه، بحث‌های زیادی شد که آیا این جایزه فیزیک بود یا نبود و «فیزیک» چه‌قدر سهم در محتوای کار این دو نفر داشت. در این گفتار، به این می‌پردازم که اصول کار این دو نفر (البته به خصوص جان هاپفیلد) چه بود و بعد به این سوال می‌پردازم که آیا این که این دو نفر جایزه‌ی نوبل فیزیک ببرند طبیعی بود یا نه، و اصولا به چه چیزی فیزیک می‌توان گفت.

Research questions are often detailed. Answering them can require looking at a topic from multiple angles. Today, they are introducing Scholar Labs, an AI powered Scholar search that is designed to help you answer detailed research questions.

It analyzes your question to identify its key topics, aspects and relationships. 🎓 PhD in Quantum Error Correction for Superconducting Qubit Hardware

Applications are now open for a fully-funded 4-year collaborative PhD between the Quantum Software Lab School of Informatics, The University of Edinburgh and the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC).

The studentship will be jointly supervised by Joschka Roffe, Stergios Koutsioumpas, Vivek Chidambaram, and Aneirin Baker. The project will involve designing fault-tolerant architectures for superconducting qubit quantum computers.
