Why Fraud Score Has Nothing to Do with Mobile Proxies and Why It Doesn’t Matter in Mobile Networks


🔹What Fraud Score Actually Is

Fraud Score is an IP reputation rating based on how long and how often a specific IP address has been linked to suspicious activity (spam, abuse, fraud, etc)

Databases such as IPQualityScore, Scamalytics, and AbuseIPDB mainly analyze static IP addresses (residential and datacenter), where the owner and traffic behavior are relatively predictable

🔹Why Fraud Score Doesn’t Apply to Mobile Proxies

A mobile IP is a dynamic IP address issued by a cellular carrier that

🔻is shared by hundreds of users at the same time (via NAT gateways)

🔻constantly changes when a device reconnects to the network

that's why

🔺 no personal history

An IP may be used by one person now and by someone else 5 seconds later or even by multiple mobile users simultaneously

Building long-term reputation for such an IP is technically impossible

🔺constant IP reallocation

Mobile carriers continuously rotate and redistribute IP addresses

An IP might appear in one location in the morning and in a completely different one by evening.
Anti-fraud databases simply can’t keep up with this level of change

🔺 shared IP = misleading reputation

If one user sends spam while 999 others generate normal traffic, assigning a single reputation score becomes meaningless

That’s why many fraud databases don’t even assign a Fraud Score to mobile IPs. They just label them as “Mobile” or “Carrier Network”

🔺 mobile traffic is trusted by default

For most platforms, mobile IPs represent natural user behavior

As a result, anti-fraud systems often treat mobile traffic as lower risk unless there are clear behavioral red flags

🔷Why a Mobile Proxy Doesn’t Get Banned Even with a High Fraud Score

Even if you find a mobile IP showing a Fraud Score of 70+, it usually means nothing

🔺the data is outdated because the IP likely belongs to a different device now

🔺modern anti-fraud systems analyze real-time behavior, not old database records

🔺mobile IPs behind NAT are not blocked individually because blocking one IP would affect an entire carrier pool of real users and platforms rarely take that risk.
