HOW TO REDUCE NEGATIVE MARKS IN PRELIMS-

1. First step- Always go for those questions on which you are very confident-

The questions you know very well takes very less time. So it is always better to go for those kind of questions in the beginning. Complete all such questions in one go.

2. Attend all those questions where you can eliminate 2 options.

Once 2 options get eliminated, there is a 50% probability for you to get the question correct.
This will always get you additional marks
Go for all such questions
Note: Elimination should be based on sound knowledge and reasoning and not speculation

3. Do not take unnecessary risks. Such risk will get you negatives.
Do not attend a question which is completely unknown
Factual questions have the highest probability to be wrong. So, in such questions, you can answer only if you know the answer very well.

4. Do not get obsessed with answering more questions-
80-85 is the safe number of attempts
Do not try to attend all the questions. It will be counter productive
Do not mark any answer randomly. It will never help you.
In case of questions where you can eliminate just one option, you have to take very calculated risk. Do not try to answer all such questions. Go for such questions only if you feel like there is a high probability that it can get correct (or) if the total number of questions you attended are less.
