Dr Ferede Befekadu W/Meskel 1930 – 2016 EC.
Dr Ferede was born on 1930 EC. In Addis Ababa, he attended his Primary school in Etage Bitule and Secondary School in General Wingate secondary School. He acquired his B.Sc. Degree with honours from the former Haile-Selassie I university and then on 1957 E.C he received his M.Sc. degree from Osaka University and His Phd Degree from the same university on 1966 EC. Since 1959 EC. Served in the Architecture and Urban Planning Department, Technology Faculty of Addis Ababa University for more than two decades as Assistant Professor and subsequently, as Associate Professor. After he was relived of his duty due to retirement, he had served at the Technology Faculty of Addis Ababa University, as par time lecturer in the field of Civil Engineering and related areas, with the academic title of Associate Professor. At the same time , he joined Unity University as par time lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning since 1999 EC, he served as Permanent senior lecturer, he had also served as Head of the department for two years beginning 2010.
Until the time he acquired his doctoral degree Dr Ferede had done seven research works his own, and six works in collaboration with others. After he did his doctoral degree he had, published two research works. On August 2016 he was winner of the award, which was named after Honorary Dr Sheik Mohammed Hussin Ali Al-Amoudi, chairman of Midrock Technology Group. As a person Dr Ferede had been providing consultancy services in the area of his professional competency along side his task as a lecturer. Moreover he is involved in various professional association.
