Concept
“design is a dialogue, and the concept ensures you have something to talk about”.
Concept=> idea of what some thing is.
-A concept is helpful in guiding the design process. And can also be used as a starting point for a design.
How can we find a concept?
-we use the given parameters for a given project to develop a concept.
1) site detail: using the sites behavior, unique liability and opportunity.
-The site shapes our architecture and the architecture shapes our site.
urban context:a dialogue between what we can create and can not.
rural context: a dialogue between nature and architecture.
2) client interview: using details you get from a client like beliefs, budget, agendas and more.
3)building typology: knowing what type of building we are building will help in finding a concept.
4)formal concept: bringing forms to life and expressing them on your piece of architecture.
-taking forms like “the bird`s nest (stadium in china)” and resembling the idea on your building.
