We’re excited to introduce our new lecture series, a project of Unitraining - an educational company that is delivering practical, high-quality professional training programs in Israel.

The idea behind the lecture series is to invite not professional speakers, but people who are truly passionate about their field - practitioners who work in the profession they talk about and are eager to share their knowledge. I want to create a space for exchanging ideas and building connections. We plan to host both Russian-speaking and Israeli lecturers, so the main language of the events will be English.

Here you’ll find announcements of upcoming lectures — approximately once a month. Some of them will be donation-based, while others will have a fixed fee depending on the speaker and topic. All lectures will take place in a cozy classroom at Migdal HaShalom, a historic skyscraper in the heart of Tel Aviv, just next to the Allenby light rail station.

The first lecture of the season is Fedor Zomba's "AI Thinking for Regular People: How to Cut Through the Hype and Find Real Value" on 05.10.2025

Every day brings new AI tools, each promising a “revolution.” How do you separate what’s genuinely useful from marketing noise? How do you develop “AI thinking” without becoming a tech expert?
This session focuses less on specific tools (though I’ll show several live examples) and more on developing an approach to working with AI:

- Think in problems, not technologies - Instead of asking “what can ChatGPT do,” ask “what’s eating up my time”
- A simple evaluation system - 5 questions that help you filter hype from real utility
- How to follow AI news without overload
- Sources, signals, and what actually matters
Experimental mindset
- How to safely test new tools in your actual work
- The automation-control balance
- Where AI helps and where it can hurt

Format: Live thinking + demonstrations + practical frameworks you can use on your own.

What you’ll get: Not a list of tools (they become outdated quickly), but a way of thinking that helps you independently find and evaluate AI solutions for your specific needs. Plus an understanding of how to navigate the news flood and identify what’s actually important.

This is for anyone who wants to use AI effectively without getting lost in the technical details or falling for every new announcement.

Every Sunday 10:30 - 17:00 we organize Pomodoro-style coworking session

We gather together to combine focused work and socialisation. Some people can come to finally write texts they’ve been putting off. Others code, read, do admin work, or study. At the beginning of the day, we share what we’re planning to work on, and at the end, we check in to share what we managed to accomplish. No pressure, no shaming — just support and good company during the breaks.

Why do this?
— Motivation and focus: When you're surrounded by others who are also working, it’s easier to stay productive. It’s a psychological effect — “If everyone else is working, I might as well too.”

— Presence effect: Simply being around others can create a gentle sense of accountability, even if no one is watching you. It helps you stay on track.

— Time structure: We work in focused sessions with a timer — 50 minutes of work, 10-minute breaks. This helps maintain concentration, prevents burnout, and reminds us to take healthy pauses.

— Casual socializing: In addition to short breaks between sessions, there’s a longer lunch break in the middle. It’s a great time to chat with interesting, kind people and maybe make a new friend. Participation is by personal invitation only, so everyone in the coworking group comes through someone — no randoms, just good vibes.

— Sense of connection and belonging: Working side by side is a way of being together, even when everyone is doing their own thing. Especially valuable for freelancers, remote workers, or anyone feeling a bit isolated.

The next session is this Wednesday. We have a water cooler and some Nescafe coffee. Feel free to bring some snacks to share. For lunch we go to Sumsum

16.11 18:00 Oksana Stanevich: "I’m my own detective now" - lecture at Unitraining

LLMs can be your research team and lab. Learn OSINT basics, cross-domain analysis, rapid media scraping vs. disinfo, and how to make models hold Nobel-level conversations (voice + mind-mapping). Real cases, practical methods. 😈

Oksana has been a researcher for over a decade (Google Scholar). Her expertise in epidemiology, public health, and infectious diseases enables her to bridge public policy and sociology through the lens of healthcare—offering well-founded generalizations alongside transparent reflections on their limits and when they do not apply.

Clinical and research work with marginalized communities, refugees, and minority patient groups keeps her grounded in human realities. In parallel, her ongoing research practice—augmented by LLMs—works as a practical “solutions lab,” turning questions of interest into reproducible analyses and actionable approaches.
