Ahmad bin Harb said, “I have worshiped Allah for fifty years, and did not find the sweetness of worship until I left three things:

١- تركت رِضى الناس حتى قَدَرت أن أتكلم بالحق،
1- I abandoned chasing the pleasure of people so that I was able to speak the truth,

2- I abandoned the companionship of the sinners so that I was able to find the companionship of the pious,

3- and I abandoned the sweetness of the worldly-life so that I was able to find the sweetness of [seeking after] the hereafter.”

Hasan al Basri رحمه الله said,

“There is no man who sees the blessing of Allah upon himself and says: ‘All praise is due to Allah who by His blessings righteous actions are completed,’ except that Allah will enrich him and increase him.”

[Hilyat ul Awliya 2/148]
A person should walk a number of steps after eating at night before bed even if it is a few hundred steps. And he must not sleep (or recline) right after eating as it causes great harm to one’s body.

[Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Zaad al-Ma’ad, 4/205]
‎Ibn al-Qayyim

“The servant has a Lord that he will stand in front of and a house that he will live in, so he must seek the pleasure of Allāh before meeting Him and he should furnish his house before moving into it.”

[al-Fawā’id]
'Abdullāh b. Mas'ūd said: "There isn't any true relaxation for the believers besides the meeting of Allāh."

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

“By Allaah, there’s nobody who honestly and sincerely turns to Allaah and does the deeds of the people of Jannah, except that Allaah wouldn’t let him down, never.”

[Sharh al Arba’een]
Prophet ﷺ said,

"The Muslims are like a single man. If the eye is afflicted, the whole body is afflicted. If the head is afflicted, the whole body is afflicted.

[Muslim 2586]
Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:

“Thinking about what does not matter to you is the door of every evil.”

[Al-Fawā’id, 1/175]
From al-Mas'ūdī رحمه الله (One of the Salaf), that ‘Alī b. Abī Ṭālib رضي الله عنه said regarding the saying of Allāh تعالى:

“Those who humble themselves in their prayer.” • [al-Qur'ān 23:2]

“The humility in the heart and that is to SOFTEN your SHOULDER for the MUSLIM MAN (your Muslim brother praying next to you) and that you DO NOT LOOK AROUND (right or left) in your prayer.”

[Narrated by Ibn al-Mubārak in 'az-Zuhd 1148’ and aṭ-Ṭabarī in his 'Tafseer 2/18’ and al-Ḥākim who declared it authentic and al-Bayhaqī in 'Sunan al-Kubrā' and mentioned by as-Suyūṭī in 'ad-Durr al-Manthūr 2/84’]
