thinking about that directors roundtable where the interviewer asked greta gerwig “what is cinema?” & her answer was so heartfelt.. explaining how when you see it, you know. how you don’t miss it from the first shot. that perfectly sums up my experience with pain & glory. a beautiful piece of art about the process of taking our memories and turning them into something new. about the magic of art reaching the one person who it was meant for, even if it takes 30 or 50 years.. and how time evaporates once it that thing reaches you. how it can thrust you back into a moment, full of vivid colors & love, and how it fuels you to keep creating.
